Well we just got back from the SA’s and although we all went out and did our best we did not achieve the best results. The team spirit - both men and ladies was excellent and both teams bonded well and we all enjoyed a hectic week of darts.
The ladies faired a lot better than the men. Durban Districts Ladies came third overall, the men however did not fair well in the 1st division this year after being promoted last year. The bottom 4 in the 1st division have been relegated to the 2nd division and unfortunately we were one of them
1st SA 180 badges went to Raymond Azor, John Sonnekus & Kenny Godfrey.
Ladies : Tanya Thomas Hit 3 180’s
Men : Alvyn van Wyk Hit 4 180’s
Ernest Barendse Hit 2 180’s
Tanya Thomas & Charmaine Neethling got through to the finals of the Ladies Doubles and narrowly lost to the Western Province Ladies ( 4-3 best of 7 ). A great achievement for Charmaine who was at the SA’s for her first time.
Tanya made it through to the Ladies Singles Finals and she beat Kariena from the Free State in the final. Tanya won (4-2 best of 7)
Tanya Thomas over- all had the best Ladies aggregate and came first, She has achieved her senior PROTEA COLOURS for a 2nd year running and will be representing SA in 2010 CONGRATULATIONS TANYA !
